Airborne salt settles on the wall, works into the surface, then crystallises inside the pores every time the wall dries out. Those crystals expand. What we use within a kilometre of the surf

On exposed coastal walls we move away from plain cement render as a final coat and into a polymer modified acrylic system. Acrylic flexes with thermal movement, sheds salt far better, and holds colour under the UV load you get on an east facing Bondi wall.

We also pay attention to the details people skip. Sealing the top of parapets, getting proper falls on window sills, and making sure the render stops clear of the ground rather than bridging into the soil.

Art deco blocks and strata work

The Eastern Suburbs are full of 1930s and 1950s walk up blocks, and a lot of our work here is strata. Rendering a whole block is a different exercise to a house. There is scaffold, there are owners at home during the day, and there is a committee that needs to see the same finish achieved across four elevations that have all weathered differently.
