The standard central west development is a knockdown replaced by two attached dwellings, and almost all of them are specified with rendered and texture coated facades. Builders come to us for these because we can turn around a full facade quickly and to a consistent finish across both halves.

Consistency matters more than people realise on a duplex. Two slightly different texture grades side by side on the same building is instantly obvious and it is very expensive to fix after the scaffold is down.

There are a lot of three storey walk ups around Granville, Auburn and Merrylands that were rendered in the seventies and have never been touched since. What you usually find is a hard cement render that has debonded in patches and is holding water where it has cracked.

Patching the loose sections and coating over the top is a false economy on these. We will sound the whole wall, tell you honestly what percentage is drummy, and give you the option either way.
